I know the Book of Mormon truly is the word of God.

Another great week here in the WATAC! We had 2 baptisms on Monday and sadly LeAnn didn't get baptized this weekend because she smoked. That's ok though, she is planning on this weekend. She told us that when she reads the Book of Mormon and is with us she has no desire to smoke! So...I know the Book of Mormon truly is the word of God. It was cool because we promised her that if she read the Book of Mormon when she wanted to smoke that she wouldn't want to anymore. Then...walla. She didn't have the desire when she would read. It's just a great refresher to see that God listens to the promises that we give to others and when they are obedient to them, they receive the blessings. Pretty sweet!

Our apartment complex is kinda crazy. In the last 4 weeks since I got here, there have been 4 shootings. Some of them just gun shots into nothing, others of them suicides and then another that was aimed at people. Kind of crazy! It makes for pretty interesting adventures coming home at night and driving passed a few cop cars, it isn't too big of a deal though cause none of it is near our building, but it's fun! We run into some super dope experiences, I love it our here.

Also, this week we had a good time as a companionship and went and took some cool pictures. We look like complete weirdos part of the time..but I like them! aha Things continue to go well here in Lakewood. I'm so excited for the rest of the transfer. I hope that you all have a wonderful Memorial Day and are truly grateful for those who have gone before. I've learned that the ability that I have to share the Gospel here comes because of those who have fought for this country. That's insanely cool of them. I hope that you all have a great week!

What a great week here in the WATAC!

What a great week here in the WATAC! We have a lot of fun here in Lakewood and we work way hard. It's so much fun to be working hard and doing our thing. This week we were supposed to have a baptism but our investigator smoked "half a cigarrette". I dont' know why!! It's ok though, she will be baptized this week. We have a ton of people who are working on preparing for baptism and this week we should have the Yazzie Family and LeAnne. They are just awesome families who have great desires to follow God. We meet so many cool people every week and it's a huge testimony builder. Last night we were knocking doors and we ran into Lina and her 3 daughters. We taught them all about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was a lot of fun and they are all on date for baptism for the 4th of June. I'm really excited for them and they'll be able to progress pretty quick. The girls told us they wanted to be baptized really bad. They just need to come to church with us a couple times and be taught and they'll be ready. It's so cool to see the Spirit work on others. As we began talking to them the Mom wasn't too down, but by the end she told us that she needs to be there and that we would see them Tuesday! They are so awesome. We have a baptism tonight that hopefully they'll come to as well so they get even more excited to be baptized themselves.

On the less serious note, our companionship is so much fun! We had a bagel war last night. We had some bagels that have just been sitting at the house for like a month now. Last night Elder Anderson, picked up the bagel bag and hit Elder Chidester in the face with it. one thing leads to another and we all had bagels in our hands and were whipping them across the apartment at each other as fast as we possibly could. It was the biggest kid game of dodgeball ever. It was a lot of fun and luckily none of us got hurt, but there were bagels all over the apartment still when we woke up this morning....just a reminder that missionaries still have fun. (: ahaha our companionship is so awesome and we always have a good time together and we work hard with it so it works out pretty well.

Go Box Elder in the Semifinals this week and hope that you all have a fantastic week! Love you!

Things here in the hood are way good

Heyyy everyone! Things here in the hood are way good. Being transferred to Lakewood this week was a lot of fun. I definitely miss the Wapato Park ward but Lakewood is so awesome. We have so many things to be doing, so many people to talk to and a lot of work to do. Our companionship is great too! Elder Chidester, our greenie, is from Townsend, Massachusetts. It's like 45 minutes outside of Boston or something. He's a super cool kid and it's been a lot of fun to work with him! Elder Anderson went to East High School so I know a lot about his situation. He played football and He's super cool. I honestly love the kid to death and we have a lot of fun together. Then we have Elder Turley, He's from Linden, I think I may have shared that last week. He went to Timpanogos High School so we don't know much of anything about each other but He's fantastic too! So much fun to work all together with the four of us just working the "hood" if you will. We are in the ghetto. I found out recently that the area in which I serve is where the show Cops started. So that's pretty cool. We even have an area that a lot of people refer to as "Chocolate City" because there is so much Black Tar Meth that comes through....It's kinda fun (:

Other than that there isn't much going on. We had another Why I Believe Fireside this week where one of the people that I found while out here spoke. Her name is Ane Sefika. She is from the islands and is Samoan, we knocked on her door three times before we got the chance to teach her. Then we invited her to be Baptized and from that day forth she has been reading the Book of Mormon every day and she was baptized about a month ago. It's so crazy to hear and see the stories that people talk about. I'm so grateful to have been a part of them. Then we had to go to work. Here in Lakewood we knock a lot of doors and teach a lot of lessons so we are in a really blessed area. It's so much fun!

The WATAC is the coolest place on Earth. I'm sure that everyone who goes to their mission talks about how cool it was, but the WATAC, honestly has changed my life. It's the coolest place ever. Because of the experiences that I have had here, I will never be the same again. That's how it is with the Gospel, if you live it. It will change you. You can't change the gospel, but the gospel can change you. If you let it change you, you'll find more happiness and joy than anywhere else in the world. it will bring you more happiness than anything else in the world. I know it. I know it's true without a shadow of a doubt in my mind.

Love you all!

Being Transferred to Lakewood-Seattle Temple and Why I Believe-Tacoma

We had a good week here! Worked hard and had a couple really cool experiences. The first of the week was pretty normal and we just went throughout our daily things. Found a couple new people to teach, knocked a lot of doors and got things happening. Then on Thursday we got to go to the Temple with our Recent Converts. It isn't often here that we get that opportunity. It was really cool. While we were there, Christina, our Recent Convert, forgot to look at the double reflecting mirrors in the baptismal font. So I said, "We could probably get the Temple workers to let us go back there and look if you want." She said, "No, it's okay, I'll see it again. It's such a blessing to see others converted to the Gospel of Christ and share that with others. This weekend we also had a "Why I Believe" mission fireside. At the fireside Christina came and also bore her testimony.

Another cool experience, one of our other converts, Dale Johnson and his girlfriend who is a life long member, and the one who actually introduced us to Dale, were married on Saturday and will have the opportunity to be sealed in a year. It's so cool to see the blessings of the Gospel come into the lives of those who I have met. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here.

Tomorrow I'll be transferred to a new ward. I'm going to be going literally across the street to the Lakewood ward. I'm so excited. My companions are awesome dudes. I know 3 of them and then we are going to be training a new missionary so that's always exciting. It's the best place to be right now so I'm excited! Other than that the week was pretty normal. Just the grind like I shared. I hope that you all have a great week.
